Stepping into 2015: Release, Power, and Love

As 2014 draws to a close, I feel the call to set some intentions for 2015.  2014 was a year of release for me.  My intuition and my soul have been taking me deeper into my life, and onto my path.  This has been a year of release.  In order to move forward we often have to let go of the anchors that keep us bound to a past that is no longer ours.  Detoxing the mind, the body, and spirit allow us to have clarity without it being through the lens of our past.  There are still things I am working on releasing, but I’ve learned never to rush this process.  Moving with grace and kindness allows for deeper growth to occur.  When we are able to take ownership and responsibility for our lives in profound ways.  What do you need to release as you move into 2015?  What lens of your past are you filtering your present through?

I realized that by taking responsibility of my past, I am able to stand in power.  Owning my difficult parts as well as my beautiful parts allow me to be whole.  Journaling has really helped me to gain perspective on my life.  If you are not journaling, i would recommend that you set the intention to make journaling a part of 2015.  Journaling is tangible.  The journal becomes the altar deep-breathto our soul.  Write down whatever makes you shine from the inside out.  I love to include quotes, prayers, passages from sacred texts, pictures, and things that inspire me.  By carrying my journal with me, I feed it my life-force.  I give it life.  The journal is a living extension of my being.

Love is powerful.  Learning to love through the chaos of existence has not always been the easiest of tasks.  I’ve had my share of challenges this year.  Relationships and friendships were challenged, some survived, and others did not. I’ve learned to hold the pain and the joy in the space of love.  Even with people leave my life, I’ve never put the out of my heart.  Learning to hold even our enemies in the light of love is powerful. It releases us from the binds they might have over us, and it lets us be whole.  Taking responsibility for our lives is empowering.  This allows us to forgive ourselves.  When we can offer forgiveness to our past, to those that have brought us the lessons, and to the current moment we are able to be liberated.

As I move into 2015, I am setting some clear intentions and goals.  I feel it is time to make a lot of changes.  Making a public declaration of these intentions allows me to hold myself accountable to them.  What intentions are you setting for the new year?  What goals are you going to try to manifest for the upcoming year? Write them down, put them in your journal, and carry them with you, take them out often and look at them, breath them in, and live them.

Here are my 2015 intentions:

  1. Its time to be a raw vegan.  I’ve done this in short spurts, but now it is time to make the transition.  Cleaning up my diet, my life, and my connection to the food I am putting into my body is necessary this year.
  2. 365 days of yoga and meditation.  I need to take my personal practice to a new level. I need to live my yoga this year in a new way.
  3. Finish my book.  I’ve stutter started and stopped this for way to long.  This is the year that the book comes to life.  Stay tuned.
  4. How I do my sessions is changing.  I am expanding and letting go.  Opening to new ways of doing things, and coming back to the reasons why I started this work in the first place.
  5. Im pulling back from social media.  I am making social media outlets a place to expand the soul, and open to deeper consciousness.  Rather than just sharing what others have done, I am going to make a conscious effort to transmit the words and works of my soul.
  6. Travel, travel, travel.  I am looking to make 2015 a year of getting out into the world to meet other seekers.  I want to visit ashrams, spiritual communities, and festivals.  Still planning things out, but as soon as things firm up, I’ll be posting them here.
  7. Youtube, blogtak, and this blog are going to blossoming this year.  I am going to engage my platform in new ways this year.  You’ll want to stay tuned.  I plan on doing weekly videos, weekly posts, and of course the radio show.  This is exciting and I look forward to brining this to all of you.
  8. 365 days of poetry.  The poet in me has been asleep for a while, and now I feel it’s time to process some of the life lessons through poetry.  I hope to release my chap book mid year.  I’ll be posting poems to this blog.

These are just a few of my intentions for the year.  There are others that are more personal, but these are just a few that I felt would be appropriate to share on this blog.  I’ve learned a lot about myself this past year, and I look forward to what 2015 brings.

What are your goals and intentions for 2015?

May you be blessed in light as you move forward.  May the light of your soul radiate like the sun.

You are loved. You are Beautiful. You are Divine.

Mike.

10 Ways to open to the current of your soul

istock_000013005656xsmall

The soul is a powerful part of who we are.  It is the breath of God that breathes through us.  It is the voice that we hear in times of need.  It is the love that radiates from the limitless, into this sometimes limited space of existence.  Opening up to the current of your soul is a powerful way to help radiate light into all creation.  The more open we are to our soul, its guidance, and it’s presence the more able we will be to stay aligned with our life purpose.

There are many ways to connect to the Soul Current, so this list is by no means the end all be all, but having a place to jump-start the connection is always helpful.  The soul is always and in all ways with you.  It just takes a moment to connect.  Connecting to your soul allows you to engage your life, your health, your work situations, and life with greater clarity.  Take a few moments each day to consciously connect to your soul.  What messages does it have for you?

Here are a few of the ways to connect to your Soul Current:

  1. Slow down.  We are all moving so quickly these days.  We run through the day with barely any recollection of the important moments.  We extend ourselves so far out into the future, that we lose sight of what is right in front of us.  Take a moment to slow down, breathe, sit, and disconnect from the busy energy in your life for 15 min.
  2. Breathe.  The breath is our connection to the divine.  When we breath we are accepting an invitation to join the present.  To be present in our presence allows us to connect to the soul.  Conscious breathing nourishes us.  When we are present with the breath, we are present with the soul.
  3. Be kind.  Extend kindness in all directions.  When you are at the grocery store, say thank you to the person ringing up your groceries–use their names (they are wearing name tags for a reason).  Call a friend and tell them how much they mean to you.  Don’t forget to be kind to yourself.  We beat ourselves up all the time for silly things.  Take a breath, place your hand on your heart, and say “I Love You” to the beating heart.
  4. Journal.  The journal is the most powerful spiritual tool that we have.  It is a sacred space for us to have dialogue with our soul.  Making time each day to reflect on the various aspects of our life allow us to gain clarity.  In your journal you can write questions that you want to ask your soul.  You can write letters to God.  You can explore emotions and experiences that may be troubling you.  The journal is a great place for contemplation.
  5. Meditate. Meditation allows us to come into presence.  It allows for mindfulness and stillness, and in the stillness we can find our soul waiting for us.  There are many different ways to meditate, so I encourage you to explore and find what works best for you.  Inviting stillness into our mind, body and spirit allows us to slow down and rest in our presence.  An easy way to connect to your soul in meditation is to: sit, bring attention to the breath, and listen.
  6. Trust.  Learning to trust can be difficult. Many of us have been hurt at some point in our lives.  This causes us to lock down.  The pain is often a doorway that allows us to be softer, it allows us to learn more about who we are at the core of our being.  We often blame God or our intuition for taking us into the storm, but often we had the guidance to avoid the storm before we made the journey–hindsight is always 20/20.  Journaling and writing down the words of our soul help us to see the words, which in some cases helps us to trust it.  The more we engage our soul, the more we step into the current of our being.
  7. Move your body.  The body is the temple of the soul.  Moving the body allows us to bring all parts of self into communion with the soul.  We often store emotions in our body.  This can result in muscle pain and tightness.  Treat the body to exercise, massage, yoga or some other form of physical activity.  When we honor the temple, the soul is able to be more present.  Eating foods that nourish you is another way to keep the body’s energy clear and receptive.
  8. Read uplifting books. Read books that take you to a new level of consciousness. Take the information from what you read and apply it to your life.  I often see people get these really great spiritual books, but no one does any of the exercises.  Taking time to apply what you are learning to your life will help you become part of your evolution.  Reading about masters can offer insight into your own journey.
  9. Connect to community. You are not alone on the journey. Connect with like-minded individuals, join meetup groups, and if there isn’t anything in your area start something!  Connecting to community allows our soul to flower.  By opening up to the light of others, and by sharing our light, we raise the vibration of humanity.
  10. Love yourself unconditionally.  Learning to love yourself, without conditions, is the fullest expression of your soul’s light.  This is a hard step for many of us, but an important part of the journey.  Opening to a deeper sense of love, allows you to also become more receptive to a greater love from those around you.  Too often we shut ourselves down through judgement, through fear, or unresolved grief.  By doing many of the actions in this list, you are telling the soul that you are ready for a deeper connection to love.  Our soul is an expression of God’s love for us.  Place on hand on your heart, and the other on your solar plexus.  See the word LOVE in your mind’s eye. Inhale and align with LOVE. Exhale and expand LOVE.  Continue this cycle of intentional breath until you feel love moving through your being.

These are just a few ways that you can connect to your soul.  Opening up a little each day, and setting aside time to begin the process is all it takes.  The hardest part about spirituality and life is showing up.  Are you ready to show up to your journey?

You are Loved.  You are Beautiful.  You are Divine.

Weekly Soul Update: 10/6/2014

The world is still turning, and life is still moving.

One of the struggles may of us face as healers is wondering what we can do when the world is in crisis.  The following are some tips that you can use to engage the energy through proactive means:

  • Pray.  Centering on receptive prayer allows us to connect to our soul, to God, to the divine.  We sometimes forget this simple, yet ancient practice of connecting to a higher power.
  • Meditate.  Sit, find silence, and be at peace.  When we are at peace and in presence as individuals we begin to radiate that to the world around us.
  • Stay informed. Many of us might want to turn off the news, but being and informed healer allows you to direct your energy to those in need in a specific way.  Those suffering from illness, from the impact of war, and from the isolation these divides cause need your energy.
  • Activate healing modalities.  Send light, send Reiki, use your skills to send healing to locations, people, and events in the world.  You are NOT helpless.

These are just a few ways that you can engage the world around you, there are countless ways to step into personal power and to effect change.  Take small moments each day to tune into your intuition, to ask what you can to do change the world… then do it!

No Holding Back

Over the past few months, I’ve been given a lot of clarity.  I feel that I’ve been holding back a lot of my life.  I feel myself opening to new energies, and new and deeper understanding of spirituality.  Each day I sit with my soul in deep conversation.  I’m learning to listen, and more importantly to trust.

My intuition and my guides have been giving me a lot of new information recently.  New downloads seem to be a daily thing.  Some of the information is going to be radical, and some of it a gentle reminder to return to ourselves.  I’ve also been given some new processes that’ll I will also be sharing over the next few months.  Lot’s of changes are ahead.  I’ve been feeling the call to simplify my life, my spirituality, and work.  Change is never easy, but as we move into greater states of trust, we know that change is also powerful.  I feel that as teaches, readers, healers, as we evolve we also help those coming to us evolve as well.  It means there is more work to do, and a new level of experience is opening up.

I’ve found myself holding back from sharing the information that’s been coming through, but we are entering a time where it is necessary for us to connect to our soul energy at the deepest levels possible.  Some of the information that will be delivered may not resonate with everyone, and that is okay.  When we come up to the edges of our reality, when we encounter challenge, we learn are then able to grow.  We also encounter deepening at those moments of challenge.  It’s time for us to take ownership of our experiences, to take claim to the power inherent in each of us.  Communities are starting to come together, soul families are being born and created, and the flow of etheric information is on the rise.  Now is the time to listen deeply, find time for stillness and silence, and open to your highest levels of intent.

When we encounter new information it can be challenging and even frightening to bring it through.  I’ve been seeing many light workers waking up to their divine purpose, and then taking the leap and putting themselves out there and into the world.  This is the time to shine our light as bright as possible, and it truly is inspiring to see so many communities and individuals taking off the reigns and transmitting new information with intent.

If you are finding yourself holding back because of fear, judgement, or otherwise… just know that it is time to step deeper into and onto your path.  There are teams of etheric beings that are there to assist you, and there are many others in this reality that are also waiting for you to step up to the podium.

One of my teachers Consuela Newton closes many of her talks with this quote from Matthew.  This has become my mantra in a way..

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify God.

Take a moment to see where you are holding back in your life.  What is calling you?  Where do you feel you need to be more present?  What can you do in this moment to move into greater connection to your journey?

You are Loved.  You are Beautiful.  You are Divine.

Spiritual Tools: The Journal

The journal.  Some people love them, others find them deeply challenging to keep.  I love keeping a journal.  The journal is sacred space.  It allows us a space to reflect, to come into communion with our intuition, and to catch snapshots of our lives.  Life happens quickly, and having a quite place that we can gather ourselves is necessary–the journal provides this.  I also tell my clients that it is important to keep a pen and paper journal.  I know we live in the age of technology, but with our fancy devices comes a lot of distractions.  From time to time I’ll keep quick notes, or reminders to myself of things that I should write about in my journal, but I love the tangibility of a paper journal.  When we write things out longhand we are also connecting to each word that kisses the pages of our journal.  When we write things out we are also inviting our bodies into this process, we are able to make mistakes, scratch things out, and we tend to not be as polished as we are on our electronic devices.  You can also keep an art journal if you are more connected to the visual realm.

journalingAnother things I tell my clients is that it is not so much about journaling everyday, but it is important to carry your journal with you daily.  Daily access to the journal is giving yourself permission to write when it feels right to do so.  Not having it with you, or leaving it at home puts distance between the intention to write and the action.  Most of us might “want” to, or might be able to remember those insights later… but we also often forget.  I keep my journal at arm distance.  I like to have access to it at the gym, in the grocery store, or when I’m waiting in the car.  I sometimes will just open it up to a blank page and sit.  The blank page is possibility.  I can rest on that page, reflect and energetically fill that page with my thoughts and intentions.  I find that the simple act of opening the journal is entering sacred space.  Things get quite, and my focus is now on the page, which also helps me enter into stillness.  Everyone will have their own ideas surround what a journal is or isn’t.  These are just my thoughts, and my personal connection to the journal.  Feel free to develop your personal connection to it.

What to write?!

The next big question is:  What do I write in my journal?!

Anything and everything you want.  For a while I would keep a separate journal for different areas of my life, and still do to a lesser extent.  I find that keeping my thoughts focused in one space helps to keep me focused in one space.  I write my thoughts, my ideas, my struggles, my intuitive insights, my paranormal experiences, what foods I’m eating, manifesting lists, yoga postures and sequences that I am working on, show topics, drams and interpretations, self readings, tarot card exercises and readings, research..etc.  The list is truly limitless.  The idea is try not to limit yourself.  You can do the “Dear Journal” and write about your day, or you can just allow consciousness to flow in whatever direction it wants to go in.

After making some big life transitions I felt that I needed to come back to center.  I pulled out all of my old journals and began to sift through my personal story, my journey into the spiritual.  I found myself again in those pages.  They gave me a chance to reflect on the reasons I started doing this work, and also allowed me to have gratitude for my evolution along the path.  Journals are our record keepers, they are our friends, and they at some point will become our legacy.

Do you journal?  What do you like journaling about?  If you are not currently keeping a journal, what is your resistance?

You are loved.  You are Beautiful. You are Divine.

The Cleanse: Hitting the Spiritual Reset Button

istock_000013005656xsmallI want to start off this post by saying that the cleanse I am posting here is my journey.  Some of you may like it, others may not.  I only share it because we can all learn from each others trip along the soul highway.   I often find myself called to do a cleanse when I feel it is time to do a reset.  My spirituality is my life, my profession, and my passion.  Having come through a big transition, I feel that I am still carrying some old resistance, habits, and patterns.  Doing deep, and honest self inquiry allows us to go into a cleanse with clear intention.  I am also feeling that things are shifting for me spiritually.  I am starting to work deeper in the intuitive space, communing with my guides, my angels, and higher vibration beings.  When engaging these higher energies, I find it of value to detox and purify the body as much as possible.  It is also important to have a plan of action in place for going into your cleanse.  This helps keep you focused and aligned with your intention.  I am hoping to do a daily video post for this as well, and you can check out my YouTube page here.  If I do the videos I’ll also try to post them here as well.

So, for this cleanse and detox I am starting with 10 days.  I am starting with a 3 day master cleanse and then going into 7 days of water only.  Each water day is going to be dedicated to a particular chakra.  I bought 7 jugs of distilled water.  On each of the jugs I am going to draw the sacred symbols associated with each chakra, and will charge the water by chanting/toning the chakra sounds into the water.  I also have some wonderful chakra incense that I’ll be using for my morning meditations.  This cleanse is a bit more intensive than other things I have done in theChakras-in-Lotus past, but I feel that this is what I need to do right now to clear out some stagnation.  I am also structuring my reading time, online time, and yoga practice to support this adventure.  I’ll end the 10 days by doing 3 days of green/raw protein shakes, and I’ll allow my intuition to tell me what comes after that.  I am cutting gluten, sugar, soy, and processed foods out of my diet moving forward.  I have been receiving a lot of clear messages from my guides to start doing this, so I am.

When stepping off the ledge and into something like a cleanse, or detox be sure that you allow yourself time to prepare to go into it, but also be kind and gentle with yourself as you exit the cycle.  The most important part of a cleanse is your journal.  What emotions are coming up?  What body reactions are you having to the cleanse?  Write down your weight at the start, and track it throughout to be sure you are not losing too quickly.  What are your dreams telling you during this time?  I find that a cleanse usually brings up much more than our dependence on certain foods and additives.  Remember also, that cleanses and detoxes do not need to be food centered.  Taking a break from the computer, TV, the bar scene, clubs, or even pulling away from certain people might be a good thing.

For me, this is also a chance to reset parts of my life.  To come back to center, to bring my power home.  I do lots of energy work, self-healing, self-reflection, readings on myself, and this allows me to also be of service to my clients, friends, and soul family.  It also allows me to work more closely with this new and wonderful energy that is coming in.  I’ve had a lot of resistance stepping more deeply onto my path, and this process helps to clear away some of that muck.  I am also going to be working on cleansing and balancing the energies in my physical space.  Lots of work ahead, and lots of great things that I’ll be sharing here in the next few days.

What in you is calling you forward?  What in you needs to be cleansed right now?  Are you able to pause now for a moment, and bring awareness to that area of your being?

You are Loved.  You are Beautiful.  You are Divine.

Beautiful Disasters and Learning to Trust

Woke up with some thought this morning, reflections from some dreams that I’ve been having… so, this may come off a bit tangential, but that’s just me.  When I write here, I often just let my fingers walk the keyboard, take what feels good… let every thing else rest on the shelf:

Sometimes life is a series of beautiful disasters.  It changes quickly, and in the process it changes us.  We adapt, or we try to.  We get to put our spiritual tools to the test, and we question the fabric of our reality.  We often start asking the “why” questions.  Why me?  Why now?  etc..  Sometimes the answers are not as simple as we’d like them to be, and sometimes they are so simple, that we miss the subtle nudges.  Trust is not an easy thing to engage.  It requires a level of surrender that many of us fear.  A letting go, a deep release from the inside out.  God FNNGWIIGYTY1GRZ.MEDIUMsometimes has a way of stepping in and challenging our reality.  Illness, upheaval, poverty, loss, are some of what I call “the sandpaper experiences”.  I often see us as a piece of word in the hand of God, slowing being sanded and shaped into something beautiful, but often we don’t see what is coming, or perhaps we aren’t allowed to see.  I tell my clients that if I was told by my intuition that I’d be sitting here, face covered in tattoos, teaching spirituality for a living, that I’d tell it NO WAY… but, here I am.

The past few months for me have been sandpaper moments.  When I was in DC I had the deep challenge of trust.  People, places and things no longer held the stability that they once had.  The “safety” in my current reality was challenged, and I had to start letting it all go.  In the fall, we still try to cling to the old masks, the old people, and places even if they are no longer serving our highest intent and good.  We try to fit the square pegs into the triangle holes.  I am seeing a lot of us go through these moments.  The beautiful shattering of these experiences.  We get to see how much power we are holding in these moments, and how much we have given away.  We have to take responsibility for that power, and start to bring it back to us.  As time moves forward, I’ll discuss dealing with specific challenges many of us face when dealing with trust: relationships, work, family, life itself, and spirituality.

explosionWhen I was preparing to leave DC, there were moments when I felt angry.  Anger is an emotion that is like fire, it can burn through things quickly.  I was angry at everything, but did not have a place to direct my anger.  It was just an emotion that needed to be acknowledged.  We often try to suppress these emotions, but they are a natural part of the grieving process (if you are going through heavy change, I recommend looking up the stages of grief, it will help you identify and accept where you are as you go through the stages).  As the fire of anger started burning in my heart center, I felt a peace wash over me.  My intuition activated and asked,” Beloved, what are you angry at?”… I don’t know… “Beloved, there is not place to put this emotions.  The people and events that are falling away are to be held in compassion, if you must place this anger somewhere, place in on me.”  The peace that had begun to wash through me started to flood into the deepest parts of that moment.  I view intuition as the voice of God speaking through my soul.  In essence God was telling me, that if you must be angry, be angry at me… it’s okay, I can take it… but please hold compassion for those that you feel deserve your anger, because they don’t… the situation is what it is, just love it… and trust me.

In that moment peace was followed by a deep trust.  It did not mean that I was not going to feel the emotions, the pain, the tearing… but now it also made a little room for the joy, the peace, and the compassion I needed to move forward.  For an instant, I released control and let the divine drive the car, and things began to move quickly.  When the world around us shifts at a rate of speed that does not allow us to “cling”, it challenges trust on multiple levels, we have to be kind to ourselves in this process.  Journaling and yoga have been lifesavers.  They allow me the space to dialog not only what was happening in my mental space, but yoga also allowed me to move the physical energy that had stagnated i my body.  The pain is all part of the greater process of becoming who we truly are.  Sometimes these moments come in slowly, sometimes they are larger explosions, but through all of it I find there is a deep thread of connection to something beyond us.  Something that is guiding us gently through the many beautiful disasters we might face.

What is trust to you?  What do you do when you feel trust being challenged?  Do you find solace in your spirituality?   What happens when your spiritual process are also challenged?

You are Loved.  You are Beautiful.  You are Divine.

108 Day Challenge

I finally made it down to South Carolina.

New starts, new changes, and coming into new alignments can always bring struggle.  One of the things that I like to do when I get to a new area is a cleanse and detox.  Upheaval can bring a lot of stress thorough our entire system.  For me, cleansing the body, mind and spirit helps to harmonize me into my new experience.   Since this time I am also in a process of building a new life, I thought I would take this cleanse a bit deeper and also offer myself some challenges.  The challenges help to re-align my system, and well… keeps things from getting stagnant.  Getting into a new routine is always a good thing when leaving an old one.

I’ll post the details here, and will do a daily post as I move through the cleanse.   This is my personal challenge, but if you are finding yourself in a rut, why not do something to help move you deeper into your experience.  Before I start a cleanse, detox or challenge like this

My challenge:

  1. Food and nutritional detox: no sugar, gluten, processed foods
  2. Reading 1-2 books/week.
  3. Writing, writing, writing…. one blog post a day, one poem a day, and daily journaling
  4. Daily mediation and yoga practice
  5. and some other things that I am keeping personal 😉

The challenge should be something that is out of the ordinary for you, it should allow you the opportunity to step into something “new” as far as a routine, or spiritual experience.  Taking you a bit out of the norm, or bringing deeper awareness to something that is more routine.  If you meditate already, challenge yourself to shift it up a bit.  Do something a bit differently.  Breaking up stagnation helps us to keep our practice fresh, and we also get to take a deeper look at ourselves in the process.  The path is about learning to grow through engaging the process, rather than just going through the motions.

Do you have questions on setting up a cleanse, detox, or personal challenge?  Feel free to write them in the comments section below and I’ll answer them.

Finding Closure, Embracing Impermanence

Everything dies.

Nothing lasts forever.

I am in my final week here in Washington DC.  I never thought four years ago that I’d be saying goodbye.  This has not been an easy process, but I’ve learned that pain is teacher.  Everything that enters into our lives does so for a reason.  In reality, nothing on this plane of existence lasts forever.  Our bodies are in a constant state of decay.  Relationships end.  Jobs end.  Life ends.  We are constantly faced with closure.  One of the things I’ve allowed myself to do over the past few days is to soften into the awareness of impermanence.  Many of us try to stop the shifting that is happening around us and we cling to what no longer is, and in turn this causes us to suffer.  It also causes many to harden to life.  “I’m refusing to let myself be hurt again”, “Love sucks”, “Better this than nothing” and we feed ourselves a plethora of excuses to get us out of just being present with the death current.

When we soften to what is right in front of us we get to be with all of it.  When we allow our hearts to soften, we can love all of it.   Yesterday as I was walking around DC I was noticing things with a different clarity.  I allowed myself to love all of what I was seeing, experiencing and noticing.  Now that I am leaving this area and will no longer be a resident, my time here is in the death current.  Rather than clinging to what no longer is, and not projecting into some imagined future, I let myself be with all of it.  I got on the an escalator that I’ve taken many times over the past four years, and for a moment I loved that escalator (sound silly, I know), but I was noticing something that I have taken for granted over the past four years.  Something as simple as an escalator, when fully noticed, can crack you open to the “now”.

One of the things I am trying to do more of is to invite a gentle awareness of impermanence into all that I do.  It has allowed me to deepen my friendships, to taste life a little differently, and to not take for granted what is right in front of me.  I am learning to love all of it.  Even the pain.  Pain reminds us what it is like to feel, and like impermanence it is also part of life.   I am not saying that we need to go around and fear that at any moment everything can be taken away from us (but in reality it can).  When we soften to this reality, we get to really appreciate where we are, now.  What is right in front of you, in this moment is all that really exists.  The past no longer is here, the future is just a figment of your imagination, what is here and now is all that is.  The eternal now.  Shifting our awareness to being with all of it is a powerful tool for transformation.

Many of us spend a lot of time looking for closure.  We need validation that things are in the final throes.  Closure is not something we get from an external source.  In a relationship that is ending, looking for closure is just keeping necessary doors open.  I find that true closure is just being able to say “thank you” to the entirety of the experience.  Thank you to the joy, thank you to the pain, thank you to all of it.  Thanking our pain is not easy, thanking the experience might be even tougher, but hating it doesn’t change it either.  This is not something that we just rush into, but this also comes from the space of softening our hearts and opening to love.

So, I’ve rambled on enough.  I promise to post with more frequency now that the move is happening.
